A question to those who are discussing Delsey 4x4.
What size is yours and how much does it weigh?
I'm currently using a Samsonite spinner and I suspect it will need to be replaced before too long since it's been taking a battering from me and baggage handlers.
I'm quite happy with it but I rather like the sound of Delsey 4x4.
As for a spinner case rolling down the hill, yes it's a nuisance. It's also a nuisance when I have to keep reminding the transport that it needs to go on its side because it rolls around.
But other than that, I do like the fact that I can roll my hold luggage and cabin luggage together in one hand if I put them back to back (and there is no carpet on the floor). I definitely can't do that with a normal two-wheel luggage.
While negotiating with carpet, I drag the spinner case as if I would drag a normal two-wheel one.
Other merits I found with a spinner:
It's much easier to get into a tight space with a spinner.
I can push it quite easily or at the side of me or drag it (i.e. more versatile)
It's easier to keep things separated - some in one side of the shell, some others in the other side of the shell.
Other things I find annoying about a spinner:
Clamshell shape, meaning that the 'lid' I have to lift to reach the contents can end up getting heavy.
The wheels adds 'height' to the bag. More of an issue when trying to fit it into the overhead bin.
Tends to be quite a bit heavier than the very light two-wheel case.
