ATM Global Alliance in Italy?
I need a little clarification from you experts with first hand knowledge (how's that for buttering you up?) regarding using a BofA ATM card in Italy. I know BofA is part of the Global Alliance, and that I should be able to use a Barclays ATM in London, or a BNP Paribas ATM in Paris without being dinged for an ATM fee. Unfortunately I am going from London to Florence and then to Paris. Deutsche Bank is part of the Global Alliance and I think they have branches in Italy. The BofA site does not indicate that the DB ATMs in Italy can be used without a fee.
Simply, can they or can't they? My wife, son and I are traveling together, and I'm planning for each of us to carry different cards (ATM and credit) so that if one of us is "hit" we will have backups. I'd like to minimize transaction costs.
Thanks in advance!
