When I was there, they had all of two agents working, or at least assigned to the customs booths. There were many many more people assigned to get you into the duty free stores after you clear customs than there were custom agents.

We were one of the first off the plane, and it took f-o-r-e-v-e-r!
I can not imagine what the time factor was for those who were last off the plane. I would plan for LOTS of time.

I travel to Mexico monthly, about 50/50 MEX and TLC. What time of day and what terminal did you travel through? CO,DL and AeroMex use T2 now (although, maybe not exclusively yet) which is what I was talking about.

Because you mention the duty free after passport control, you are talking about the old terminal (T1). You are right - many pax there are not prepared and depending on the time of day it can take quite long although it has never taken me more than 35 minutes to get to customs.

The OP is talking about Weds at 8:30pm - I dont believe there will be much traffic then, especially if he is going through Terminal 2.
