What I would like to know from some of the crews is are they told that a certain passenger has been downgraded, and to try and make him feel more comfortable and appreciated in the lower cabin. In the situation where a family has been split up would the father have been allowed to go and see them during the flight?
I do not think that it was rude of the family to comment on such a situation! To me it is more ill mannered to think that money can buy you anything, and that being someone else's prebooked seat!
Bazim,
Clearly you have not read the thread properly or you have misunderstood. To your points....
BAPremier was the cause - not entirely true. Yes, I took their seat, but it was not a decision I made. I requested my PA to get me on a particular flight and through our contacts at BA this was done. If it hadn't been for the family on board talking loudly enough for me to hear (and I believe they meant me to hear) then I would have been none the wiser. Do you honestly believe that BA would give my PA the option "...well we can downgrade someone for your boss or he can get the next flight". Come on Sir, be realistic.

I don't believe money can buy you anything, but I do understand that we live in a capitalist world where commercial decisions can sometimes be made that means someone loses out - not ideal, but sadly true life.
You also make too many assumptions - for all that either of us know, this family may have already received an upgrade from Club, so in reality even with their father back in Club, they were already better off.
