I noticed that too and given the number of options in the IHG chain it opens up lots of possabilities to jump hotels for those point and/or mile crazy. Note also it's for the whole chain including Indigo, Hol Inn, Hol Inn Express, CP and not just IC brand properties only, another wording I had to read over twice.
