Unfortunately, I don't think there are many good options. Dearborn is the closest Amtrak station and you can take SMART bus route 190 from the Smith terminal to Fairlane and then transfer to route 200 which goes past the Amtrak station off Michigan Ave. It's not a quick bus ride though.

There's also the MichiganFlyer bus service which can get her to Jackson for $20. Could someone meet her there? Otherwise, the Jackson Amtrak station is about 3 miles from the MichiganFlyer stop (Holiday Inn off of I-94), so cab fare shouldn't be too bad.
