Not sure where you get 20,000 pts from, unless you booked 4 seats, but I doubt it.

One-way LAX-CDG-AMS in F should be 50,000 miles.

One-way LAX-CDG-AMS in J should be 45,000 miles.

Therefore 5,000 miles difference, and, very much worth it to take F over J on such a long flight for a relatively small 5,000 points.

If you've paid 20,000 miles it looks like you've fallen foul of an error on the booking engine online, and I suggest you get onto Flying Blue pronto.
