So hands down the NW WC membership is the best for affiliated lounge access, espeically internationally. You often don't even need to be flying NW to use the lounges.
If you want to buy a WC membership and have Delta elite, ask nicely and the WC will sometime offer the equivelent lounge pricing to you. No need to waste effort in a status match.
