Some people claim the airlines are paying the same $1/bag they pay when a passenger uses a skycap at the airport. Airlines used to absorb that fee, many airlines/many airports are now charging most passengers.

They offer the service inbound (you put Disney tags on your bag before leaving and it ends up at your resort room no matter where it came from, you never have to claim it, Disney does for you - save for international flights).

So, to me, with how much Disney has put into it I suspect it doesn't cost the airlines anything. It's moreso Disney doing it then the airline - southwest has always mentioned software as the problem not any sort of agreement on price.
