Is it so much gate lice knowing your going to be going in soon? I think of it more like this.

I am sitting down in a chair, or on the floor, whatever. NW Elites get called and I get up and walk towards the gate. I am stopped by what I consider GL - a wall of general board pax standing there. Each time the agent picks up the mic these pax move forward like a heard at the gates. The calling of elites always seems to leave them baffled, "is that us?" - "I don't know whats going on.." - and either ends up with "lets form a wall and block everyone behind us from going forward" or "lets try it, worse that can happen they'll tell us no." (they do and they don't)

If you get the wall in front of you, what do you do? I find the best strategy is to crawl between their legs, they never see this coming and it catches them completely off guard. If you try to say 'excuse me' you get the opportunity to look at them in the face - but they find it upon them selves to ask 'Are you elite?' to which I always say 'no' and continue on anyways.

As a matter of fact I think I will take the elite luggage tag off just for the fun of it.

But enough of my dirty secrets.. I think if it goes first, elite then general and your elite - I don't consider that GL since your positioning your self to pre-board and your knowledgeable that first class will have to have room to get by you.
