...my missus is an ex CX FA, and when I travelled with her I would just book the cheapest ticket that gave me points and then at the gate we would get u/g'd to biz. They had a chart that the employees used for their discounted fares...it differed from place to place. Now that was 10 years ago, so not sure if it changed since.
