Yet you defend DL for these little inconsistencies. Where is the PE 1000 guarantee? Where is PE upgrade on W? What about our segment elites? Why is DL handing out status like candy? You cannot defend these concerns - no one can/will.
And your concern about NWA not knowing about some obscure alcohol beverage that even you admit you had no clue about except for being a DL flyer? I don't get this at all. Do you work for DL? Is this some strange form of damage control?
I mean in all honestly, if we thought DL had a value over NWA as you obviously do, we would be flying DL. Since most of here posting in the NWA forum have NW elite credentials in our profiles and not DL, it makes sense that most of us have chosen NWA over DL - and that is the problem.
You can't defend diluted RDW program, you can't defend the benefits we receive that DL customers don't in kcnwa's list.
We don't want to fly DL, that is why we have chosen. But now since DL is eating NWA we are being forced to, or find another airline and even then I can go back to we have choosen NWA over any other airline!
I would have a preference to NWA eating DL any day, I love my WorldClubs, I love the NWA staff, I love the WP program and nwa.com website. I think NWA is in a better position financially speaking than DL.
Don't get me wrong, there are things about DL I like, Coke, adult size cups in the plane and snacks in Y (including those damn tasty cookies), but I don't like them enough to have switched to DL.
Just let us have our moments here and of course what ever happens is going to happen - no one you included will convince us this is good for us until it happens.
Can't you see that all we see is negatives? From a much more detailed list then the FA's bar tending abilities?
I am not posting here to defend DL. I only wanted to get a dialogue going. I expressed a concern and wanted to get some reactionl I wanted to know something about the other point of view, and you guys have responded. I can't possibly address each thing you NW fans have said, partly because I don't know the intricacies of the NW WP Elite program (I don't even understand all of the abbreviations). I did see a couple of concerns I could respond to (like the ability of DL golds and plats to make same-day itinerary changes fee-free), but even then I did not go into full detail.
Obviously there are a lot of you who really are concerned about the merger and it is great to get another perspective. Please understand that there is a lot of concern among DL Medallions, too. Maybe not as much since the expectation is that the DL program will experience fewer changes than the NW program. Some of your concerns are based on truths, but some seem to be based on inaccurate perceptions. But like I said, I don't know the NW program well enough to be able to talk intelligently on each point raised. I didn't think I personally would be expected to address each concern that each person raised. I am not a DL representative here to try to make you feel better about what is coming.
The whole amarula thing has made me laugh more than once. I NEVER criticized the NW FA for not knowing about amarula and I never criticized NW for not having it. My criticism was that the FA was not service oriented. Once realizing that I was hoping for something to add to my coffee, I thought she should have told me what she had to offer. But she was so anxious to join the other two FAs in the sewing pattern conversation that she just wanted to be done with me and move on.
Folks, I may personally be a DL fan, but I am not a "Delta Right or Wrong" person. I genuinely wanted to have some dialog. Like it or not, we are all going to be lumped together before too long, so our goal should be to share our knowledge and experience so that ALL of us can make the best of it.
