We are going to be in Newport Beach for 4 days for a wedding (Thurs-Sun) We are staying at the Holiday Inn Express on West Coast Hwy. There are 6-8 of us traveling together, couple of questions:
1 .Do we really need a car? The wedding is on the ICON in Newport Harbor on Saturday, walking distance from hotel. We can use Super Shuttle to get us from LAX to hotel.
2. What are some good/fun bars restaurants in the area?

1. If you want to get anywhere outside of walking/taxi distance, then yes. CA is not made for walkers. It's probably about a 15-20 walk to the beach from there.
2. Plenty! The Chart House, Dukes (In Huntington Beach), Perry's Pizza near Balboa Pier, etc etc.
Bars... Depends on what you want but Malarkey's (college), Woody's (college) are great for the 20's crowd.
3. Renting a bike would make the commute from the hotel to the beach much more bearable. I'd recommend it.
