all my Russia plans are finalized except travel between St. Petersburg and Moscow. I researched links in this and another thread. Have found no direct contacts for purchasing a train ticket outside of Russia. I used waytorussia.com to make a 'request' where they onward refer you to an agent, but that agent never replied.

I arrive SPB on May 31, a Saturday and need to be in Moscow June 3, so it's either a train on June 2 overnight or fly on June 3. I will be in Germany for the week prior, mostly in Berlin. I would prefer to have my transport solidified before arrival in Russia but am willing to do it on the fly when arrived, however, since I arrive on a Saturday and would be leaving on a Monday night train I'm not sure if it's realistic or not. I simply have no idea how things work there. There are fares on Aeroflot for about USD 100 which seems decent but I would prefer the train since a place to sleep is included, I enjoy it the most, and it saves the trip to and from the airport.

I travel VERY light, one small bag, so using local tranport or walking to and from the train station should be fine.

any suggestions... wait on train ticket to arrival? someone who can book me ahead of time? just go with air travel? etc.
