Check post #1 of this thread for any codes. If there are none listed, we are unaware of any. Also take note that you probably will not find a specific code good for the whole trip, but more likely just for a portion (example - not SLC to Charleston - only Chicago to Washington) - except the "regular" discounts like AAA or senior.
Also, you do not reserve a specific seat on a train like you do on a plane. The only specific seat that you reserve is a specific roomette or bedroom.
This page shows you diagrams of the locations of the rooms. Note also that you can not pick a specific room when booking online (it will be assigned to you), but you can when you speak to a live agent.
Also note that you do not need to take a sleeper all the way, if you chose not to and want to save money. Example is you could go coach from SLC to Denver, but then take a sleeper from Denver to Chicago.
