I haven't noticed any change in the magazine selection. What I do notice is that by certain points in a month, the selection and quantity goes way down. I think this is because pax, crew, cleaners, whoever, pinch them throughout the cycle.

They also get pretty ratty at times. Often pull out a magazine just to find it's the cover only with the guts gone, or many pages ripped out by someone that wanted to keep something they read.

I've flown other U.S. carriers often this year and can say most have the exact same selection from the same magazine supplier, INI, Inflight Newspapers & Magazines, Inc.

The only ones I usually go for are Time, Newsweek, Entertainment Weekly, Holiday Travel, Frommers Budget Travel (great!) and Business Week.

I can really tell when a flight has just been replenished. Just flew on a 757 that had tons of new, fresh mags. The binders had not yet been "cracked."

You can also tell when serviceing didn't remove all the old magazines, when you grab a few and find a Time magazine from about 2 months ago!
