Wow! Enlightening thread, as I have started saving my miles too for the "trip of a lifetime" with an objective similar to the OP.

Most of the discussion has been regarding the saver awards or the *A awards. The award in question from the chart is 110k for a business class seat. However, is it an option to use the standard award, because I don't believe that they are capacity controlled. However, the award is doubled for the saver award, cost 220k for a business class seat. Or does anyone do this?
