I'm pretty worldly, a good drinker, although not sweet stuff. I had never heard of amarula. I had to look it up on wikipedia. I do get upset if I'm in an Italian restaurant and the waitperson doesn't know what Grappa is, or in a Greek restaurant without knowledge of Ouzo. But the airplane is not staffed by bartenders but by FA trained in safety.
Yes, there is no excuse for the poor service on that leg. Southwest pulls off a full beverage service with paid beer or wine on their OAK-RNO route. But to expect a FA to be familiar with South African liqueur is just a little over the top.
