I was on the 2100 BA LHR to EDI on Friday night and it was near enough empty - single travellers or couples in each row and even a few entirely empty rows.

Admittedly it was running late and some people may have transferred over to the 2005 which left at 2040 but still, I'd never seen a Friday night flight to EDI quite so empty and I did wonder whether some people had been put off by the T5 problems when booking.

Then again, the flight home on Sunday night was packed so who knows!

Looking at fares to EDI through to August, bmi are substantially dearer than BA on most of them with their 'cheap' seats pretty much sold out. I looked for availability on both for the August bank holiday weekend - bmi's cheapest fare available was £130 for non 7am start (think their cheapest ticket can be £64) whereas BA had several £80-£90 combinations left. It does look like people may be voting with their feet.

I've had two trips through T5 and have another 4 booked. Admittedly, I'm handbaggage only but it's far more pleasant as a no status passenger than the pit that T1 domestic was.
