If you are not traveling on United, but are willing to pay the day rate, would they let you hang out in their lounge all day? I'd just as soon my Mom not be stuck wandering the airport all day, if she could get into a lounge to park it all day, that would be great. I ask re: United because I have status there, and none whatsoever on USAir (the airline taking her). I could just spring for it for her and be done with it.
The PHL RCC is a bit cramped to hang around for 7 hours.
When you say "we" are you going with her?
Is PHL your last airport before boarding an international flight?
Do you have Premier Exec or higher status?
Is she flying business class or First class to MUC?
Do you have an RCC membership?
Anyway, you can buy a one time pass for the RCC or any other lounge in PHL, but depending on the above, paying for a pass might be unnecessary.
