Once the TSA took over the important job of making sure your ID matched sure ticket, it has made things considerably slower. Once you get past the TSA gatekeepers, things move rather fast.
I flew out Monday AM as well (had an Intl arrival Sunday night with an overnight layover). Arrived MIA around 5:45am for a 7:40am push. 15 minutes to get checked in (used an agent in the FC check-in queue who checked me in for two PNR's).

My departure was from C; I used the "D" First Class/Elite checkpoint (bit of a joke as others have said).

Went into the "D" security checkpoint around 6:00am. Took about 20 minutes from (FC/Elite) line entry to clearing at D. Ironically, no line for WTMD or X-Ray - the hold-up was the TSA ID inspection station.

I had plenty of time to use the AC in the D concourse. I left the AC around 7:00am and easily made it over to C in time for boarding at 7:10am.
