I decided I had to order today for any chance of having a delivery by Friday (I should have done this a week ago, I know).
There is a great AV forum in Australia where I've traded some discs and found some very helpful people.

As a result of Willyroo's comments above, looking at eBay and the forum above I bought from Selby, a reputable Aussie company which has a good range of more than just cables.

In the end I bought a 75cm and a 1m cable, plus a tiltable plasma wallmount that can take 80kg of weight.

For any Aussies, I recommend the above forum, as regulars get some good discounts, like this 20% off coupon for members. Please update this thread if you use it.

Result: A tilting version of Willyroo's wall bracket & 2 short (supposedly quality) HDMI cables shipped interstate for AUD$100.
