help : pax name spelled wrong on ticket
Hi all,
I made an award booking for my mom to visit me here in the states using my MP miles. The flight is international to a destination not served by UA, so is entirely on SQ.
However, thanks to a series of snafu (bad phone connection, indian rep trying to understand a chinese name, my confusion as to what my mom's name actually is on the passport etc etc), her name on the tix has an extra word and a mispelled word in it.
I tried to call UA awards to see if i can get it changed, and they told me that I couldn't (have to refund and reticket for $100 etc), and suggest I called SQ. I did and SQ told me that only UA can make the change.
I was wondering what are the rules regarding this. It's a paper ticket (apparnetly because the ticketed pax is not the MP member) and it's on its way to me (I got email confirmation and that's where I realize the error).
What are my options? I am a humble 1P...
