If OP is going to have them transfer to USH to city,, then have to get out of city and drive why not just have them transfer to a flight to the ultimate destination. I thought they just wanted to avoid a transfer and have "comfortable drive" which I think will be very long..
the idea of a hotel near jfk to shower and rest then drive might be the best idea as they can then leave between 12-3 and avoid lots of the traffic.
