In any event BA will get nowehere near the action here, unless LH have a very weak agreement with SMB. What amazes me is the way that so many people seem to want BA/VS to gain control of BD. How is it in any of our interest (assuming that none of us are sitting on millions of BA shares) for BA not to have a strong competitor ex LHR? BA has managed to get away with customer services "murder" for far too long, precisely because it has lacked such a strong competitor.
This is something I also can't understand. Sadly people are often nationalistic without understanding the consequences.
The Swiss were also very nationalistic but realised LX being taken over was better than LX being sidelined. Needless to say, LX is not doing very well for their LH master and it looks like the Swiss chief will end up being head of the overall LH group.....
