Does UA price tickets at different amounts on different sites?
I assumed in the past the same prices on UAl.com would come up for published fares. Yes different foreign regions have all sorts of consolidator and travel agent nett fares etc, but I am talking here about what United gives officially on its website.
I just priced SYD-LAX-SYD Oct 10 and Oct 20 (UA flights 816/815) on ual.com. On both normal and advanced mode the lowest price showing was $US1,292.25, or about $A2,390.66.
On the UA Australia website, I reach via clicking on ual.com, the fare comes up the same as it has for months, i.e. $A1,699. That is a 40% lower price. And UA phone staff sell it for that price too, so it is not a 'web special' etc. There are of course no stopovers or anything like that to complicate the issue.
Is this common for UA Britain, or Asia etc?
