It was one of those welcome back promotions. Funny, since I traveled on December 31, not really that long ago. I wasn't able to register for the spring double points promotion, so I'm not getting 5x either.
The general rule seems to be that if they haven't seen you take a ride in 3 months, they'll send you an offer at some point after that 3 month period.
