Good thing you don't fly into IAD after midnight because being first off the plane just means you get to sit longer on the moon buggy while Ma and Pa Kettle in row 30 round up their vittles and their teeth before shuffling off to the shuttle.
NYC does occasionally have a few advantages... nothing worse than airports with too few gates - memories of endless bus journeys at LHR and CDG.
