British Airways announces today, route and schedule changes to its network for Winter 2008.
The key changes are a new route operating from London Gatwick to New York and two new Southern Europe services to Oporto (Portugal) and Valencia (Spain). There are also some frequency changes and airport changes as detailed below.

New services:
The new service from London Gatwick to New York starts on 27 October 2008. This means that the airline will fly 62 times each week from the capital to New York as the Gatwick flights will operate in addition to 55 weekly flights from Heathrow.
British Airways is also expanding its Southern European routes with daily services from London Gatwick to Oporto and Valencia.
Frequency changes:
Services from London Gatwick to Turin and Alicante will increase from a daily service to double daily. Services from London Heathrow to Brussels will reduce from 8 to 7 per day.
Airport Change:
Warsaw flights will return to London Heathrow from London Gatwick and will operate 2 per day.
Route suspension:
British Airways will suspend its services from Manchester to New York from the 26 October 2008.
All passengers affected will be informed and offered the option to re-book on an alternative New York (JFK) flight from London Heathrow or Gatwick or receive a full refund.
