UA could learn about Customer Service from Delta

I flew a roundtrip on Delta this month because UA's fares on the same routing were ridiculous. I am a 1P with UA, no status with Delta.

On the outbound, my connection in Cincinnati was delayed by 2 hours...believe it or not, they said that the first class restroom hada leak and it shorted out some of the electronics below. We sat on the aircraft for an hour and they finally let us off, saying that they were going to let a circuit board dry off and then we'd probably leave in another hour and a half..while I was at the food court getting something to eat, they decided to grab another aircraft and use that, cutting down our delay. I got into MHT 2 hours late.

Today in the mail I had a personalized form letter from Delta Customer Service that actually did cover the delay and apologized for it along with a $75 travel voucher (the ticket had only cost $250).

When was the last time you received a more or less personal letter from UA customer service without having sent in a complaint, much less an unasked for travel credit? (that went to all passengers on a delayed flight, even those without status)
