You've got options among the majors even on the Strip.
Planet Hollywood is Starwood, and might be the best deal for accumulating benefits. The Westin Casuarina is also Starwood, one block off the Strip.
There's a Marriott Suites a couple blocks off the Strip between the Riviera and the Hilton, and the Renaissance Las Vegas is walking distance to the monorail, if that's viable for you. So is the Courtyard and Residence Inn just across the street from the monorail.
Of course the LV Hilton has its own monorail station. There are also a couple of Hilton Grand Vacation locations on the Strip.
I think I'd look first at Planet Hollywood for SPG accumulation, then Marriott.
