Yeah, I think you just learned the difference between a decent carrier and Ryanair... The LH 99 EUR fares are great - the base fare is something like 1-2 EUR, all the rest is various surcharges (mainly fuel) and taxes, which you *DO* get back when canceling. You can treat these tickets as refundable ones with a 1-2 EUR cancellation fee. FlyingLawyer at the LH forum is an expert on this subject matter.

With FR it's a whole different story though... They have questionable business practices as witnessed in this particular case. But they are cheap. And cheerful for most of the time. Unless something goes wrong. Then you're on your own.
