Thanks for the input. I was favoring IAH for the reasons mentioned above, but wanted to check without swaying your opinions beforehand. Not specifically expressed above is the benefit of two 2½-hour flights via IAH, rather than a short 1-hour flight to EWR followed by a long 4-hour flight to CUN. Another factor I didn’t initially consider is reward availability. Although I am paying for my ticket (to get the EQMs), I see that standard FC rewards are available for TSMRSRNE down and back via IAH, but we’ll have to take the next flight to CUN (CO346). There's no standard reward availability on CO646. That’ll get us in at 12:50 p.m., which is only 1½ hours later. By the way, the CLE-CUN nonstop does not run on Fridays. We are taking the nonstop back (it runs on Sunday). Hopefully, I will be EUA’d into FC on all segments (or doesn't Mexico count? There are
so many loop holes!).
