I wouldn't rely on DL. I would suggest you bring your own big clear trash bag and put the seat in that. If I recall correctly, DL is charging for bags too. I just saw a car seat come off the carousel, it wasn't bagged/wrapped or in anyway protected and was soaking wet from the rain.

I've also seen some checked car seats in "custom" zipped covers made out of duffle bag-like material.
