I do agree that the $150 UA is charging (and the $200 that AA charges for international changes) is quite high. We recently changed international tickets at $200 a pop, and I was not happy. I'd like it to be lower as well.
But I find it interesting to be called crazy because I am willing to accept the responsibility for abiding by rules that I agreed to up front. In turn, I think it's crazy to enter into a situation with rules one does not like, knowing that they could run afoul of those rules when there are other options. That's crazy! And whining about it after the fact just makes it look silly.
"Yes Ms. bank person, I know I signed these mortgage papers with the 8% interest rate, but I now think that it's too high and don't want to pay it anymore."
And we know where that got us.

Sure, absolutely. I am going to pay the fee if I have to change because I know that I agreed to those rules. I have done that and never expected not to pay that change fee.
I am just saying it is unreasonable and maybe drop a line to the customer service hoping many other members will do the same and ask AA to consider lowering the change fee.
I agree to drive a car and thus putting gas in my car. I do hate the soaring gas prices and so do you. What is wrong about discussing it on a public forum dedicated to it.
Many replies imply that they prefer the high change fee and asking others to shut up just because those are the rules.
