I found a non OTA version of Google mail via a web search (.alx file) that I installed on my Blackberry. I also installed the Opera mini browser and made some modifications. I can then forward other mail accounts to Google and browse the web without a Blackberry plan. There are several tutorials on the web to achieve this.
