You are of course assuming that you can book in advance to get those fares. If you have to travel last minute (i.e. < 7 days in advance), then it's often the full fare of $720. With SW's no last-minute booking fee for award travel policy, award tickets can save a lot of money, assuming there is award inventory available on the desired flights.
