I'm putting together an AONEx trip and doing SYD-AKL. I'd like to do the QF321 (LA metal) and there seems to be availability when needed. Now, if I change flights after ticketting in A to a flight with only D (ie anything other than QF321), will this mean a forced re-issue because of class, or will I just get reservations in D class since A is unavailable?
Not an AONEx, but a couple of weeks ago I had a Full Fare First Class ticket (ticketed through AA) which included SYD-AKL-SYD but the trans tasman had been booked in J on QF flights. I then chose to use LA for the trans tasman sectors in F and the ticket needed to be reissued for it by AA
After having seen the quality of LA on the SYD-AKL run, I decided that I didn't want to use them for AKL-SYD so rebooked on EK for the return leg. Again the ticket needed to be reissued
Based on this, I would be surprised if you do not need a reissue performed. If the change was just to an AA sector, I would not be too surprised if they could do it without a reissue.
