Hi all,

I'll post my 2 cents, although I would agree with the overall responses ... try Hilton, and see if it works for you.

As a Gold member since 2005, I must say that I have seen improvements in recognizing me as an elite over the past 2-3 years.

- I have a fridge request in my profile, and for the past 12 months, I have consistently been receiving it (whereas before, it was hit and miss)

- Twice now, I've been named "Guest of the day", most recently in Boston, where a bottle of wine and some cheese and crackers were waiting in my room.

- I've had no problem getting lounge access. Yes, sometimes you have to remind them, but I've also had to remind people at Hilton's.

- When I stayed at the NY Marriott Marquis, on an award stay, they had booked us on the floor where the concierge lounge is located, with a room looking down upon Times Square. Don't think I could have asked for more.

- Stayed at Hollywood Beach, FL, recently, and we arrived to find that we had one of the few rooms which has a balcony facing the beach. It's wonderful to arrive at 11 pm, open the balcony door and be able to fall asleep listening to the waves.

Like everywhere, there are good and bad apples, whether it's airlines or hotels. I've had great experiences with Marriotts, and I have had some that are less so. Overall though, I'm happy with the consistency with which I get treated, and that's how I remain loyal to them.

Cheers,
