This used to be the routine on the Saudia flight out of Heathrow to Riyadh. (don't know if it still is). They called the final boarding for the flight in the bar, and people ordered another one. After the 4th or 5th final boarding call (and another 2-4 drinks) they sent a cart down to drive all the people too inebriated to walk to the plane. I only participated in the ritual once, it was fun, what I remember of it
