Built-in flash is useless on an XT - take it from an XT owner. And yes, the 18-55 kit lens sucked. Sucked big. Don't bother. I'm also a 430EX owner...great piece. I don't like the long receycle time, but I'd rather have a better body and lenses than a hot-to-trot flash because I don't use flash all that much.
