I am based in CLT and I share your sentiment. I like my direct flights to almost anywhere I want to go. I see no much sense to waste extra couple of hours flying through ATL for example.
I echo this statement being PHL based. I could certainly fly another airline but it just doesn't make sense to add travel time and the possibility of missed connections when I can fly direct with US.

I have to politely disagree. While US was never perfect, the product was better for me from 1997-2004 than is has been from 2005-current, on the same routes that I fly now, mostly southeast to northeast.
This is what I was referring to in my previous post. I wish I had the ability to compare US now to US of 2004. I wonder if that would impact my view of US. Does anyone else here share my current situation that could be compared against those who have flown US for many years.
