I really loved the Sheraton Pattaya. It is, of course, in Pattaya - yes, there's tons of prostitution there etc but the resort really is a world away. If you're staying inside the resort the only indication of it is that occasionally a guest will have brought someone back with them and that person will join them for breakfast or at the pool. But for the most part it's pretty discrete. The rooms are stylish and lovely the service great, and I have to disagree with mario33 that the spa is subpar (though it is pricey for the area).

I also loved the Meridien Khao Lak, but I was there in off-season and with one of their more spectacular rooms. Really enjoyed their spa. During the height of season it could be a little busy for my tastes I imagine and I really would want a pool villa I'd think, rather than a room in the main building. It's really just an hour's drive from the Phuket properties.
