DELTA reduces miles for budget travellers by 50%!
As of Jan. 1, 2003 Delta passengers flying in classes L U and T (deeply discounted fares) will receive only .5 mile (YES! 1/2 mile) per mile flown. This means it will take budget travellers TWICE AS MANY MILES and TWICE AS MUCH MONEY to qualify for free flights and gain elite status. This is a stab in the back for loyal SkyMiles members who are not on expense accounts and actually pay for tickets out of their own pocket.
