That being said, it's possible the United crew was hasty and overzealous. It's not entirely clear from the limited evidence in the article.
Exactly. It wasn't the fact that he was praying. It was the fact that he was (possibly) holding up the plane for an on time departure. Had he been in his seat, seat belt on, praying there would be a problem. I see plenty of people pray in their seats before take off, during the flight, or landing. Its not the praying that was the problem.
