What about in situations where a pilot is bumping a paid J pax?

I know its probably rare, but given AC's level of compensation, I doubt the pax would be very happy.

I presume that most pilot deadheading occurs within Canada, so as a pilot would you rather enrage a high rev pax (paying for J who gets booted for a captain) or go without a big seat for a couple of hours. Keeping in mind that if it weren't for high rev pax you may not have a job.

Non-confirmed upgrades are a different story, which has been put to rest.
