The customer loyalty program disclosed yesterday that it risks losing its Canadian income trust status because foreigners have snapped up its units, prompting Aeroplan to accelerate its switch to become a corporation.
An industry insider said Aeroplan may seek unitholder approval to convert to a corporation as early as its annual meeting, to be held June 2 in Toronto.
