Regarding the "Ms" things, some of us may have assumed that Lynn is a woman's name, but like Lynn Swan, I guess that name could be male or female.

I learned long ago not to make assumptions.

The nonstop a day later is acceptable to me, WITH compensation, which should be determined, if any, by tomorrow, asian time. To satisfy me, they would need to provide one night hotel, and compensation for my agreeing to leave a day later than confirmed. Anything less than $500, for my accomodating Singapore Airlines, I wouldn't even remotely consider. Plus there are the other probably compensatable issues like the insult and general agravation caused. Probably worth a few hundred more. So that's around $800, which probably is close to what an executive economy PAID passenger might pay at the airport, to move up to business class. I'm not sure about the exact amounts, but i would guess that's close.

I still think I'm doing SQ a favor by being willing to let them upgrade me to business, rather than pay out money in cash or vouchers, where their costs are probably higher. But we'll never know exactly, as we don't know if the day of the upgrade turns out to be a day where there were empty seats in business (probably not), OR it turns out to be a day where they COULD have sold a full fare business class seat, but instead they gave it to me, for free.

On that note, I'm going out to dinner now.
