Rare is right ... although not as rare as the TPE-ANC-JFK route. According to acarsd records, the last time a 74B (latest gen. 744 from CI) was flown to AMS was March 23, B-18215 (the newest one) .... while the last time a 74B flew to JFK was the 14th of March
If you're flying an old generation 744 (the one with 14F seats), I'd recommend staying away from seat 1K. Although this is my favorite seat on the plane, I've found a lot of the old generation 744's have a problem with the PTV in this seat. Seat 1A is a little better, but from my experience, if you get either B-18202, B-18203, B-18206 you're going to have a problem in 1K. The best condition PTVs I've seen are generally in seats 3D and 3G (the ones in the middle)... I guess because people sit there the least often?
