I am thinking of purchasing of Digital SLR. I was never too much into photo, but would like to learn more and take a few more than "point and shoot" photos this year. Thus, I would like a good entry level Digital SLR camera.

The Canon Digital Rebel XT, while old, can be obtained quiet cheap. I was thinking of picking it up and an extra set of telephoto lens. Or maybe get the camera body and a better set of lens.

Again, I would like to stay in a budget. The alternative would be to get the XTI for a bit more. But besides 2mp extra, I cannot see it having any other features that a novice like me would benefit from.
